Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes please! Although we are open Monday-Saturday, we like to make sure that we are ready and able to accommodate you so it is best to book in. Our Tuesday evenings and Saturdays get booked up quickly so try to make your appointment in advance if possible.

How long will my appointment last?

Your appointment will last around an hour.

It's my first appointment and I'm nervous... help!

Don't panic! We are here to gently guide you through the different styles and find the perfect dress for you so there is no need to feel worried. Some brides have been dreaming about this moment for a long time, and come brimming with excitement, armed with a book full of magazine clippings. Some of us have palpitations at the thought of stepping one foot into a bridal boutique, are convinced that absolutely nothing will suit us and we will look horrendous in everything. We guarantee you, you won’t. This is your time to enjoy yourself so don’t take your first appointment too seriously, (we don’t bite!) Try to come with an open mind and you’ll most likely find that you are pleasantly surprised by your experience!

I don’t want a typical wedding dress, can you make my dress unique?

You’ve come to the right place! Our lovely Agapé brides tend to share our passion for beautifully crafted gowns that are a little more special than the norm. We are creatively minded designers, and if necessary can collaborate with you to design and make your bespoke wedding dress, entirely from scratch. This is one of our favourite parts of the job! If you’d like to book a bespoke consultation, email us to discuss your ideas. If you’d like to express your personal style by tweaking aspects of an existing design, for example lowering the back or adding lace straps, we are more than happy to accommodate you.

What sizes are your samples?

Our samples range from size 6 to size 16, Whilst most of our samples are around a size 12, we are able to give you a great idea of how the dress will look even if your number is a little higher or lower than this!
How many people should I bring with me?
We have seating for up to three guests, and have found that bringing 1-3 people with you whose opinions you value and trust always makes for a constructive appointment. Too many opinions flying around can make you feel harassed and confused! We are a very welcoming bunch though, so if you have any special requests then just drop us an email and we will do our best to accommodate!

Do I need to bring anything?

If you already have some ideas of what you might like, then of course feel free to bring along some images/show us your Pinterest board! If you have some, nude seamless underwear works best under the dresses, and depending on the styles you like a strapless bra could also be handy. We have plenty of shoes for you to try on with the dresses so no need to bring them.

When do I need to order?

Lead times vary with different designers, but we usually recommend ordering at least 6 months in advance. You may find the dress of your dreams 2 years before the wedding- in which case go for it! Conversely, you may find yourself with only a few months to plan your day and buy your dress - don’t panic, usually our designers can accommodate tighter deadlines if necessary. Alternatively you could always choose a dress from our sample sale that is ready to go!

Will my dress need alterations?

We are perfectionists here at Agapé, and when your dress arrives we usually like to tweak it here and there to get it looking amazing & fitting perfectly. All of your fittings and alterations will be carried out in-house by one of Team Agapé. We are all qualified designers and seamstresses, and fitting is our forte! It is lovely for you to be able to rest assured that your dress is safe in our expert hands.

How much do fittings & alterations cost?

All standard fittings and alterations are included in the price of your dress... lucky you!
